Fans of fake Dr Pepper UNITE!

November 7, 2004

I don't think there is an official group named FOFDP (fans of fake Dr Pepper), but after viewing the Faked Dr Pepper website, I'm concerned that there isn't.

Who would have known there are more than 100 versions of the Waco, Texas, soft drink? This site contains a collection of the drinks and a simple taste rating, from Dr. Riffic (five Dr Pepper cans) to Dr. Rush (described as "taking a handful of grass and dirt and drinking it").

GAC: Adding music to a website

November 4, 2004

QUESTION

Do you think it's a good idea to have music playing in the background on a website?

AMANDA: YES

Adding music to a website

November 4, 2004

I haven't seen any exact data on this, because I'm not even sure it's available, but I'm guessing perhaps one in eight websites have background music playing on them. While some sites use the music to promote a musician's new release, others apparently prefer to remind you of standing in an elevator for an infinite amount of time.

The election is over ... so what happens now?

November 2, 2004

Either your guy won or he lost. OK, maybe he didn't run at all, or maybe your guy is imaginary. Regardless, the voting is over, so it's time to move on.

But will everyone be nice to each other? At Vigil For Civility, that's the hope. The site asks people to basically support the winner of the presidential race and try to work toward uniting the American people again.

I have a password that contains eight asterisks

November 1, 2004

At this very moment, someone could be watching your every move, directly through your computer.

PEEK-A-BOO! No, it's not me. I have much, much better things to do, like collecting the Iowa quarter and playing Monopoly at McDonald's.

Unfortunately for you, other people not only have that extra time to hack into your machine, they enjoy doing so. Yes, I realize it's hard to believe someone would rather attempt to ruin all your useless files rather than collect the four railroads off fast food soft drink cups, but it's true.

Three appearances down, many more to go

January 28, 2006

I haven't quite made it as far as M.C. Hammer, from London to the Bay, but I have made it to Evansville in Indiana and Owensboro and Brandenburg in Kentucky the past two weekends. I've seen a lot of friends I haven't seen in awhile, and I've also made a few new ones.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to support "The Developers" ... and if I haven't made it to your town yet, hopefully I'll be there soon!

Next stop: A Reader's Corner in Louisville

February 20, 2006

After a couple of weeks of breaks, I will be back on the book tour 12:30 p.m. March 11 at A Reader's Corner Bookstore, 138 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville, Ky. There's a children's book reading that starts at 11 a.m., and I may show up and read to the kids, depending on the schedule. The theme for the reading is St. Patrick's Day.

It's never too late to purchase Christmas gifts

December 24, 2004

Even though it might be after Dec. 25 by the time you read this, it is still not too late to make that last shopping run. This year, especially if you live in the Midwest, your excuse will work even better:

"I ordered your present online, and it hasn't arrived yet."

That simple sentence should give you at least an additional week to make purchases. And with the 236 inches of snow some areas have received, there's no telling when a present, even ordered after Lincoln's birthday, will appear.

The Special Delivery is hot off the presses

February 20, 2020

The book is out! The Special Delivery is available directly through me and Amazon.

Raymond and Damon are not typical caimans. Sure, they look like small alligators, and they are fierce - at baking cakes, making paint and selling their great wares at affordable prices. Today is a “special” day for Raymond and Damon. Let’s ride along with them and find out more about their delivery adventure!
