Hold that thought, I gotta check my inbox

June 3, 2005

You might as well face it, the U.S. is addicted to email.

In a recent study compiled by Opinion Research Corp., the chasm between casual and nonstop emailers appears to have grown. Here are some of the important numbers from the study:

- Forty-one percent of those polled check email immediately upon rising in the morning.

- Roughly 25 percent cannot go more than a day or two without checking email.

Are there things too obvious to study?

June 1, 2005

It's rather easy to assume you know something, especially if it's based on previous knowledge that you are familiar with. And there is oftentimes a level of obviousness in certain things that make questioning particular items unnecessary. But at what length would you go to be 100 percent positive something is true?

Find your kind of music

March 12, 2007

So, you like music, but you have absolutely no idea what kind of music you truly enjoy. There are a handful of ways to determine your audio preferences:

1. Walk into a music store and say "I'll have one of everything." It may take you 52 years to remove all of the cellophane, so I'd recommend trying a used CD store, if this is the route you take.

November 10, 2004

Transferring any domain to your own control is about to be come a breeze. Or maybe not.

Starting Nov. 12, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) began utilizing a new Policy on Transfer of Registrations between Registrars. The policy states that if there is a request made on a domain by someone, and if that request has not been denied within five days, the registrar will be allowed to reward the domain to the requesting party.
