Mouse here to save the day

August 2, 2005

After centuries and centuries of one-button mice, Apple has finally released a mouse with four buttons and a multidirectional scroll bar. No, I'm not kidding, it really did happen! It's called Mighty Mouse, and it works with both Macs and PCs.

The Developers available at Amazon.com

July 25, 2005

If you have read the book already, feel free to rate it as well as write a little review. If you haven't read it, you can rank it anyway ... of course it will be good! If you are interested in purchasing it, you may do so from Amazon, but I would recommend buying it directly from me, just because that seems easier, don't you think?

Check out The Developers on Amazon.com.

The Internet really isn't that heavy

July 16, 2005

Have you ever wondered how many people are on the Internet in a given day? Yeah, me neither.

G-8 Summit again tries to address global warming

July 4, 2005

Scotland will be a hot place to be this week, as the The Group of Eight (G-8) leaders of the world's most industrialized countries will meet to discuss important international items, including global warming. So far, the U.S. is the country not currently backing the proposed ideas, which is somewhat similar to the Kyoto Protocol, which was ratified by 141 countries as of February, but not the United States.

What are fireworks salespeople up to now anyway?

July 4, 2005

(This column was originally published in the Crawfordsville Journal Review on July 9, 1999)

Nomads have wandered through cities during the last two weeks, sold their goods and departed for lands of milk and honey.

They don't leave a trail, but their wares do - usually ashes, perhaps a foul-smelling odor but always a glowing experience.

Fireworks salespeople have rigorous lives. I recently caught up with one such seller, Smokin' Joe Romancandle. What follows is his normal day:

Movies filled with computer nonsense

September 1, 2003

I cannot really say there is a particular genre of movies I like the best. Comedy, suspense, sci-fi, horror, even those touted by some as chick flicks are enjoyable. Regardless of the type, computers seem to be popping up in movies about as often as I receive email viruses with the subjects "Your details" or "Wicked Screensaver." Way gnarly, dude!

Check out the NBA lowlights, stay for 'Livin' Large'

January 7, 2010

During the past couple of days, I've been taking mini-breaks to read Basketbawful, a blog about the worst of the worst in the NBA. If you know me, you're probably wondering why I would be reading this, considering that I follow college basketball exclusively, not the NBA, the NBA development league, European leagues, Upward basketball, etc. If you don't know me, I'm not sure how you ended up on this site, but feel free to look around and DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING.

Houston, we have a book signing

March 17, 2012

My first Corporate Ties book signing is in a somewhat strange place - Houston, Texas. I'll be at Brazos Bookstore at 3 pm on Sunday, April 1 - April Fools' Day!

Book review: "Rob Neyer's Big Book of Baseball Lineups"

March 30, 2008

As a huge fan of baseball, I enjoy reliving the past seasons, teams and players that I may have seen, read or heard at some point in time. Rob Neyer cleverly combines the best and worst of every Major League Baseball team in his "Big Book of Baseball Lineups".

Guess what? More people are on online now

October 30, 2005

The only real surprise in the latest Census Bureau report regarding the Internet is the fact that the information is probably already out of date. Then again, that's probably not even a surprise.
