Although this occurred two weeks ago, the Evansville Courier & Press ran a little article about me and my book, "The Developers" just before my signing down there. The paper may do a review at a later date, but I was extremely pleased with Becky Coudret's article. Here it is:

Next stop: Destinations in New Albany

For my third straight weekend, I'll be making a book appearance, this time in New Albany, Ind. I'll be at Destinations Booksellers (604 East Spring Street) at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. Destinations is a relatively new bookstore, but the place definitely does great work in supporting local authors. And of course, you can find a lot of main stream books there as well.

I will also be introducing my local publicist, Elizabeth Woods, for the first time. Elizabeth is my grandma, one of the main proofreaders for 'The Developers' and an avid bingo player.

Three appearances down, many more to go

I haven't quite made it as far as M.C. Hammer, from London to the Bay, but I have made it to Evansville in Indiana and Owensboro and Brandenburg in Kentucky the past two weekends. I've seen a lot of friends I haven't seen in awhile, and I've also made a few new ones.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to support "The Developers" ... and if I haven't made it to your town yet, hopefully I'll be there soon!

First banner ad fairly frightening

I'm still trying to find that person (or animal) out there who enjoys banner ads, but so far, I've been unsuccessful. Even still, it's difficult to discount the fact that banner ads can be effective, even without clicking on them. If the ad has been cleverly designed to resonate with Internet users, then possibly it has done the job.

Next stop: Brandenburg (Ky.) library

I will begin what I hope will be a somewhat lengthy book tour when I visit the Brandenburg Library 12-2 p.m. Jan. 28 to discuss book publishing and my new book, "The Developers." The book is currently available at many regional Borders and independent bookstores, as well as the book's website, thedevelopersbook.com, and Amazon.com. It is also now available through Baker & Taylor, a national distributor.

After centuries and centuries of one-button mice, Apple has finally released a mouse with four buttons and a multidirectional scroll bar. No, I'm not kidding, it really did happen! It's called Mighty Mouse, and it works with both Macs and PCs.

Chuck Palahniuk coming to Louisville

If you're a fan of "Fight Club" or "Choke," you won't want to miss Chuck Palahnik's appearance at 7 p.m. June 7 in The Clifton Center Reception Hall (2117 Payne Avenue). Carmichael's Bookstore is hosting the event, but due to the expected crowd, the venue has been moved just down the road. Palahniuk will be reading from his new book, "Haunted," and will be signing books as well.

I owe a bit to Palahniuk because after reading "Choke," I realized that maybe I could write "The Developers." Not that my stuff is as good, but it's a similar style ... at least, I'd like to think so.

Happy Pi Day

Today, March 14, is Pi Day. Well, according to the Wikipedia entry about it, March 14 is the unofficial celebration for Pi Day, because the date is 3/14. Other countries read dates a little bit differently but it seems appropriate due to other factors, listed by Wikipedia:

Batteries don't seem to last long these days. Even if you have rechargeable batteries, they lose life the more you use them. My information on batteries is a little outdated, as I haven't graphed circuits since college.
