There are a fair amount of sites on the web blasting Valentine's Day, starting with Uncyclopedia. Unfortunately, I don't have time to give other sites because I have to try to find all of them.
If you're using Yahoo for email or any type of service and you want to criticize the Chinese government, you may want to think twice about it.
London-based Reporters Without Borders said recently that Yahoo gave key information to jail southwest China's Li Zhi for subversion in 2003, after he posted comments about official corruption.

Nevertheless, there's a simple way to find out how search keywords compare to one another. At Google Fight, you have the ability to compare two sets of search terms and see which one has more results.

This weekend (June 2-3), I will be attending Book Expo America, dubbed the "premier event serving the U.S. book publishing industry." My primary reason for attending is that I'm currently working on a new workplace humor memoir, and I'm looking to meet agents and publishers to pitch my book. I am also interested in networking with others and compiling a list for reciprocal web links. At the minimum, I'll be visiting a new city, so I'm pretty hyped about that.
Oh, and of course, I'll be pitching "The Developers" and my newest project, "Polos to Ties," as I go.
For Christmas, I received one of those Page-A-Day calendars to keep on your office desk. Normally, when I have one of those, I pull off about two months' worth at the same time because I completely forget about it. And I still do that for the newest one I own, but this one is a little different. This calendar is full of odd and wacky websites, which of course, is great research for my columns. I'll highlight some of my favorites here, and try to give a little bit of info when necessary.
Unbeknownst to me, robots are starting to pop up all over the place. Not that I am the head robot counter or anything, but I thought I would have a better handle on what is being built. Apparently, though, EVERYTHING is currently in the process of being built.
In case you missed it (or somehow, didn't even know it existed), the Eighth Annual USA Memory Championship was held March 12. Ram Kolli, a 24-year-old computer science student at Virginia Tech, placed first and now has the opportunity to compete in the World Memory Championship in London on August 13-15.

We have only 34 years until the Y2038 bug finally finds us. It's hard to say right now how big the bug will be, but I'm guessing somewhere between a mosquito and a giant praying mantis.
