'Tis the season for college basketball

If only college basketball could take precedence over other things, like work, sleep, eating, etc., it would be possible to consume all of the necessary information to select a perfect bracket this year. Most of us, though, do need to continue our regular life, and due to unforeseen upsets, all of the information available still might not help us win our office pools.

But it doesn't hurt to try. Here are a couple of sites you should be familiar with, so you'll be ready when the brackets are finally announced:

Maybe you've heard of Sequoia Capital, Craig Newmark and Deep Blue, but do you know what they have in common? They are part of Yahoo! Netrospective: 10 years, 100 moments of the Web.

It's hard to believe that Yahoo has been around for 10 years already. I remember the first version of Yahoo, amazingly enough. Things have changed a lot.

Use the Internet wisely with subscription-based emails

If you haven't noticed, there's a lot of stuff on the World Wide Web. For some people, that might be a good thing, but for the rest of us, who seemingly waste numerous hours a day, looking for those things we missed (like the Lip Balm Anonymous site), it's somewhat nerve-racking to explore it all.

Here comes Spuds McDarth

I am big fan of toys, and "Star Wars," and "Star Wars" toys, but it appears Hasbro has stepped over the boundary with the release of Darth Tater. The toy is a Mr. Potato Head that somewhat resembles the evil villain Darth Vader. See for yourself on Hasbro's website.

Internet ties Nelly, becomes No. 1

If you're a little behind and missed it (like me), CNN recently released its list of the top 25 innovations of the past 25 years. The Internet finished first, barely beating out other top innovations like Velcro and the automatic lollipop turner.

Say, you look familar

I think I may finally be able to enter into the Guiness World Book of Records. The record I have set just recently is the fact that I look like 45,120 other people.

I wish there was an explanation, but so far, I haven't heard one. Why does everyone think I look like someone else? Not that it's a bad thing. I'm not sure if it's good, bad or vote none of the above. But it is amazing I could look like so many different people.

Poker bots betting on increased winnings online

It's bad enough when you can't win a simple game of cards with your family. But when you're a poker champion and have to play against multiple bots colluding against you, well, it's time to take up something else, maybe shuffleboard.

New method for the advice committee

The advice section of these articles has taken an unexpected turn. I initially set out to help people with Internet-related issues, but the questions turned into something that resembled voting for your favorite color. So, I've restructured the idea in hopes of gaining actual advice that will be relevant to most people out there.

Let's discuss Trump - don't be the enemy

For my Republican friends, you know, of course, that we don't see eye-to-eye on a lot of political perspectives. I'm inclined to believe that I'm right, but I also believe that many disagreements could be talked through enough to compromise. I don't believe I know everything on the political spectrum, so I'm willing to listen and maybe my mind can be changed. I know that despite our differences, you want what's best for the country, as do I.

Next stop: Baltimore bookstores

Although I'm still in the process of setting up book events in Baltimore, I do have at least two confirmed appearances for "The Developers."

At 2 p.m. April 21, I'll be at the Marley Station Borders in Glen Burnie, Md. On the following day, April 22, I will be at the Columbia (Md.) Mall Borders, again at 2 p.m.

Besides the normal meet-and-greet that always occurs at this appearances, I hope to give interested visitors a sneak peek at my new book, which I hope to release at the end of the year.
