It's startling to see what you can find on the Internet these days. Of course, I don't need to tell you this ... you're reading this article as it is. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not to be sitting at work and have to shield your computer immediately due to something that just popped up on your screen. In any case, it's anyone's guess as to how long the Internet will stand as it is.
"The Developers" book tour is almost over, at least, for now. I will be signing and discussing the book 12-2 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Evansville Barnes & Noble (624 S Green River Rd). He will then make his final stop 4-6 p.m. at the Owensboro Books-A-Million (4606 Frederica Street).
These cities will be the 10th and 11th during my tour. I have had a lot of fun and have met a lot of people, many of whom are totally insane. At least I have pegged my audience correctly!
I finally returned to the Purdue campus during the weekend, and it didn't take me long to realize how much I missed it. Even though it has been five years, and a plethora of new buildings have gone up all across Lafayette and West Lafayette, there were still plenty of things to reminisce about.
Just when you thought you had everything you needed to have a great weekend (well, minus a date and money for that date), there are a few things for your computer that you probably don't have.
Then again, some of these things, it's probably better that you don't have them.

First off, who would have thought to combine capitalized words, minus the spaces, for the name of something anyway? Yes, it was used before the Internet for various things, including the names of racehorses. OneWebDay, even the word form itself, has become something due to this rapidly advancing form of technology.
Regardless of what type of machine you are using to read this article (assuming it's not some new-fangled toaster), you are certain to see a barrage of error messages. Then again, I suppose that depends a bit on exactly what you're doing on your computer. Sometimes, the messages make perfect sense: "Do you want to continue?" Other times, it's tough to tell whether or not there's an error in the error message.
It's a sad state of affairs when people no longer have to remember telephone numbers. I remember a handful, but it's no longer a necessity with my cell phone. This becomes a problem when you lose your phone, however, or have some other phone malfunction. If you have a cell phone, I'm sure you're familiar with malfunctions, as they seem to happen just about every 48 minutes.
I must be a little out of touch with large amusement parks or something. I recently visited Kings Island, which I've been to numerous occasions. Unfortunately, I stumbled directly into Walk-On Weekends, which allows some season pass holders to skip waiting in lines in order to ride the bigger rides almost immediately.
Actually, it's not as bad as I thought. Only the first 1,500 Gold Passholders are eligible, and they receive only a couple of tickets, with scheduled times to ride.
I'm not going to lie, I'm short on time this week because, well, I'm on vacation. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't give all six of you something to ponder for at least the next eight minutes.
One of my friends sent me a link the other day to a site that claimed to plant trees while using its search engine. The Ecoogler seems like a good idea, and a worthy cause, but it takes just a few minutes to realize that maybe it's not.
