'The Developers' featured in Purdue newspaper

November 1, 2006

I have seen my name plenty of times in The Exponent, the Purdue student newspaper. Although in the past, my name was in the byline area, not in the actual body of the story.

This changed when I recently had a couple of book signings in the area. The paper ran a preview for "The Developers" signing, which was definitely appreciated exposure.

Vote if you can

October 31, 2006

The time has come again to actually make a difference in the outlook for your city, county, state and country. Will you be an active participant this time around?

Sure, one vote may not mean much. But if everyone used the same philosophy, no one would vote, except perhaps the candidates and a few random people who vote Mickey Mouse every year. While it would be nice to have streets made out of cheese, do you really want a mouse running the house?

I know where you clicked last night

October 25, 2006

While navigating most websites, you are faced with numerous decisions. Should you click the link? Should you fill out the form? Should you mute the annoying music, which sounds like a cross between a pipe organ, chipmunks and Rod Stewart, being emitted from the site?

If you have a website, I can help you with the music problem: REMOVE IT FROM YOUR SITE! Better yet, I can help with you finding out what your visitors are clicking on your pages. Actually, I should say that CrazyEgg can help you.

Take a whiff of this!

Close your eyes and think of two of your favorite smells.

NO WAIT! Close your eyes for three seconds and think of two of your favorite smells (I just thought "What if you never open your eyes ... you won't be able to read the rest of this."). For our hypothetical situation, I've decided to use my favorites: the smell of newly popped popcorn and regular scented Pine-Sol.

What's next for the Internet?

October 12, 2006

It's startling to see what you can find on the Internet these days. Of course, I don't need to tell you this ... you're reading this article as it is. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not to be sitting at work and have to shield your computer immediately due to something that just popped up on your screen. In any case, it's anyone's guess as to how long the Internet will stand as it is.

If you are one of those people who have trouble of digging out of messy areas (and you aren't in the construction business), you may want to check out FlyLady.net. The site is dedicated to helping people learn new cleaning habits and generally ridding themselves of clutter.

There's a lot of hatin' for Valentine's Day

February 14, 2006

If you're one of the people who don't like Valentine's Day, or you don't even acknowledge the existence of it, there's additional earth-shattering news you may want to know.

It seems like you might be in the majority now.

There are a fair amount of sites on the web blasting Valentine's Day, starting with Uncyclopedia. Unfortunately, I don't have time to give other sites because I have to try to find all of them.

New ideas keep banner ads as fresh as a 'CHiPs' rerun

What is the first thing you thought about when you opened this page?

Excerpt from new book

June 1, 2007

I still have a few more chapters to write, but I would like to share with my readers an early excerpt from my new project. It's a workplace humor memoir (the working title is Polos to Ties) that is based on a job I had two years ago. Let me know what you think!

Instead of finding a new job, which of the following would you rather be doing?

1. Watching the documentary - "The History of Sun Dresses."

2. Watching the story of heterosexuals in the fashion industry, "Pinking Sheers are for Straight Guys too!"

Analyzing recreated events can be a good thing, even in JFK game

December 3, 2004

I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and say the new video game JFK Reloaded is a disgrace. More importantly, a game like this could revolutionize our way of regarding historical events.
