Next stop: Evansville Barnes & Noble

It has been a couple of long weeks, but I'm finally stepping back out on the book signing trail for The Developers. I'll be at the Evansville Barnes & Noble 10 a.m-5 p.m. April 29 for the store's AuthorFest, in support of WNIN's Ready to Learn Program.

John Wooden, Ted Allen and ... Ben Woods?

The Purdue University Liberal Arts featured myself and The Developers in its spring issue. I had communicated with a representative in Alumni Relations about sending information for the magazine, but little did I know that they would devote more than a quarter of a page to me. I shared the page with Ted Allen, the cook from "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy," who is also a Purdue grad. On the preceding page, basketball great John Wooden, yet another Purdue alum, is spotlighted for receiving a reward.

Computers + charities + recycling = ???

As I begin scheduling stops on my summer book tour, I'm working on putting together a simple program that involves computers, charitable organizations and recycling. No, I don't have a cute name for the program, nor do I have any idea how it will even work. But I'm going to give it a try.

Book featured at recent Owensboro club meeting

I recently found out that a friend of mine, Fred Miller, used "The Developers" as a topic of discussion at the March 17, 2006, meeting of the Investigators Club of Owensboro, Ky. According to Miller, it is a literary club (the oldest in Kentucky as far as he can tell) that has been meeting once a month since 1892. Every two years each of its 24 members is responsible for presenting an "Original Topic" paper, a "Scientific Topic" paper, a book report and host the meeting. He thought it would be a neat idea to review a book written by a local author.

Visit regional libraries for taste of 'The Developers'

I currently have a stack of books at home that I should be reading. Unfortunately, there's only so much time in the day, so it's difficult to rationalize buying even more books. Still, I manage to do so, with the hopes of eventually reading them, maybe if it snows 7 feet and I cannot leave for a month.

For people who want to read the book but cannot get to a bookstore, a viable option is checking it out from your local library. "The Developers" is available for checkout at the following libraries:

New books are in the warehouse

The third printing of "The Developers" is now at Biblio Distribution, and will be ready shortly to send out to bookstores and libraries across the country. Over the next few months, I will continue to make marketing pushes in the region, as well as other places in the U.S., to promote my book. Be sure to stay tuned to this site for special promotions with my book and other items in the future.

Feature article in the New Albany (Ind.) paper

This is a couple of days late, but after waiting and realizing the New Albany, Ind., News-Tribune wasn't going to put the feature article about me online, I decided to type it myself. Here's the great article reporter Greg Gapsis wrote about the recent book signing I had at Destinations Booksellers in New Albany:

Self-made man

First-time author's novel embodies humor, energy

Recent appearance in the LEO

My latest stop on the print publicity trail for "The Developers" brought me to the Louisville Eccentric Observer, where writer Paul Kopasz completed a feature story on self-publishing and on-demand printing.

I received a decent write up concerning the steps I took to get printed, plus a photo from my appearance in New Albany. Here's the link to the article.

TV appearance Sunday

For those of you who are unfortunate enough to be up ridiculously early Sunday morning, I will be appearing on WHAS-11 in Louisville, Ky., sometime around 7:10 a.m. to discuss "The Developers." I'm not sure what I'll say about it, but maybe I'll juggle, since it's silly to juggle while on the radio.

First appearance on the radio Friday morning

If you can get to a radio at 8 a.m. Friday morning, be sure to tune into 99.7 WDJX in Louisville. I will be on with Kelly K. talking briefly about "The Developers" and Sunday's book signing at Carmichael's on Frankfort Ave.

Kelly K graduated from Purdue, as I did myself, so we're going to turn Louisville briefly into Boilermaker country.

OK, maybe it will last like 41 seconds, but that's better than nothing.
