On the Street - the Preacher

May 1, 2008

I met a guy yesterday who claimed to be Jesus. I asked him how he knew that he was indeed Jesus. He said, "How do you know that I'm not?" I looked at him with a puzzled look on my face. He then said, "How do you know that you're not Him?"

I started to walk away, but I noticed the man speaking to other individuals, pointing in my direction. I could not hear what he was saying. Finally, he shouted, "It takes only one person to have faith!" I wasn't sure what this meant, and I really didn't want to ask him about it.

Spam turns 30, but it's still trying to give away a million dollars of Nigerian inheritance

Just for an instance, don't be a spam hater. You don't actually have to open anything in your inbox with "enlargement" in the title. Just play along for the simple fact of nostalgia.

Next stop: Johns Hopkins Spring Festival

April 23, 2008

It's a quick turnaround from the CityLit Festival, but I will be in attendance at the JHU Spring Festival, which takes place April 25-27 at the Hopkins Homewood Campus. The details are a bit sketchy as when I will be there, but I plan to hand out another box of "The Developers" to event visitors.

Visit the event's website to learn more about other vendors and a full schedule of happenings there.

Free book giveaway has begun!

April 18, 2008

Starting April 19, 2008, with the Baltimore CityLit Festival, I plan to give away a few books this spring and summer. I hope the next wave of "The Developers" readers gets as much enjoyment out of the book as the first wave did.

Anyway, if you received a free book and want to show your appreciation, check out the free book page "donations" options and/or email me your comments about the book!

Wait, people still use IE 3?

April 18, 2008

So the news out recently is that PayPal is going to block "unsafe browsers." I'm not talking about people here, but actually web browsers. How will PayPal know if something is unsafe? Good question, but one way they will tell, according to this article, is by determining the version of the actual browser.

First book excerpt available

September 1, 2004

As you may or may not know, I'm in the process of writing a book. It was fun, but I'd like to finish it, get it published, sign some books and start working on the next one.

In the meantime, I'm going to provide you a few excerpts so you can see what I'm working on.

To set the stage for the first one, one of the book's main characters is meeting a blind date who happens to closely resemble her favorite celebrity.

Everything I've learned writing this column

July 9, 2001

1. Almost half of the people who answered my first survey use the Internet trying to learn more about computers and stuff. I hope this column has also helped you learn a little as well.

2. Porn sites are updated daily, but the World Badminton page may never be updated again.

Obsolete skills

February 20, 2008

As people make advances every day in technology, we also lose stuff that we don't need to know anymore. When was the last time you rewound a videotape? If you can think of anything you don't need to know anymore, check to see if it's on this list of Obsolete Skills.

I don't agree with all of them (you still need to know how to compute sales tax if you are a business owner!), but it's a pretty good list nonetheless.

The Developers available at Amazon.com

July 25, 2005

If you have read the book already, feel free to rate it as well as write a little review. If you haven't read it, you can rank it anyway ... of course it will be good! If you are interested in purchasing it, you may do so from Amazon, but I would recommend buying it directly from me, just because that seems easier, don't you think?

Check out The Developers on Amazon.com.

Ending racism by educating others about Jesus' ethnicity

August 18, 2017

It would be prudent for anyone to believe that dormant racism was ever a solution for the United States. Not that this ever fully occurred, but upon seeing the aftermath in Charlottesville, it’s also fair to concede that white supremacists who once hid in the shadows now have no restraint in showing their true beliefs.
