I have a little extra time this week, so I decided I would find an extremely thought-provoking aspect of technology to write about.
Then I thought, forget that, I'll just put together a couple of essays from my volumes of research on the adult Web site industry. Then I thought, no, I should really save that for something big, like Columbus Day. So I landed somewhere in between for this week's column.
I must be way out of the loop.
It seems as if everyone I know is using a chat program. What's worse, it seems as if they are all using different programs.
This is a column that everyone must read. It beats all compatibility tests, all love quizzes, all personality exams. It's the exam of all time.

If there's one type of forwarded e-mail that grows old quickly, it's chain letters.

Have I devised a way to get your hair cut online? No.
Have I made a searchable database with everyone in the United States with their current hairstyles? Not yet.
Was I having trouble coming up with an idea and took the first one suggested to me by a friend? Well, maybe.
Just like any insane person, I do a fair share of talking to my computer. Amazingly enough, it never seems to talk back, even after the constant urging to get something done or to stop crashing.
Thanks to everyone who sent along condolences for my grandma. I wanted to post the eulogy I gave at the funeral to show our gratitude for her life.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Ben, and I am Tiny’s oldest grandson. Despite being her oldest grandson, I sort of felt sometimes that she thought of me as her son. But maybe that’s just because she frequently called me Doug or Rusty.
It's easy to blame a computer or program or even a social networking site for all the evils in the world. In fact, the last time I yelled at my computer, and told it to stop screwing up, you know how it replied?
It just sat there and did nothing. Yep, that's the obvious sign of a guilty party.
I've photoshopped a few files in my time. What? I can't say that? Oh great. I've just used the term "Photoshop" illegally.
According to Adobe Systems Incorporated Terms of Use, there are specific ways to use Photoshop. No, not the actual program, but just the word for it. Yes Adobe, we understand that trademarks are important for corporations and the identity of products.
What better way to cripple a nation your trying to topple than to take down key websites in the country.
