This might be the first time I've actually publicized a website you shouldn't visit. But my reasoning is if I tell you what it is, you won't go there, unless you're the type of person who likes to do the opposite of what people to tell you. But I don't have time to play reverse psychology today.
FreeFlixTix advertises you will receive a free movie ticket as long as you get five friends to sign up. Apparently, you don't have to do anything else, so it seems like a pretty good deal. But let's face it: When was the last time a deal like this, on the Internet, was completely valid?
According to Snopes.com, some people do receive the "free" tickets, after their friends register, and after it's clear those friends are real people. Oh yeah, and FreeFlixTix reserves the right to sell your email address. That's just what I needed ... more spam!
One of my friends submitted my email through the site, and I've already received three emails reminding me not to forget. Hey FreeFlixTix, I'm not forgetting. I'm too busy warning everyone else about the scam.
