Happy Pi Day

Mar 14, 2006

Today, March 14, is Pi Day. Well, according to the Wikipedia entry about it, March 14 is the unofficial celebration for Pi Day, because the date is 3/14. Other countries read dates a little bit differently but it seems appropriate due to other factors, listed by Wikipedia:

Enthusiasts also note that the day happens to be Albert Einstein's birthday. It's also curious to note that the renowned science and technology university MIT, known as widely for its unconventional, quirky take on maths as for its extremely high academic standards and low acceptance rates, often mails out its acceptance letters to be delivered to prospective students on Pi Day.
