Katie Richardson of Buzz Magazine in Champaign, Ill., compares "The Developers" to a couple of classic books in her recent review of the novel.
"This is a must for anyone who really dug "1984" or "Brave New World" but also likes to surf the net from time to time, preferably with the idea in the back of your head that Big Brother could be watching," Richardson wrote.
This Sunday (1-4:30 pm Dec. 4) I will join a number of Kentucky authors in signing books at the Portland Museum Holiday Crafts Sale. The museum is located at 2308 Portland Ave., 40212.
Honestly, I have no clue what type of stuff will be there. The flyer shows authentic Kentucky crafts, books, jewelry, prints, ceramics, greenery, etc. It sounds sort of like a cross between the flea market at the fairgrounds, the St. James Art Fair and a book signing event. Surely someone there will be interested in "The Developers," right?

Borders stores in Champaign, Ill., Evansville, Ind., and Poor Richard's Books in Frankfort, Ky., are now selling "The Developers." Well, I should say I'm assuming they are selling the books, as long as the shipments made it there and they aren't sitting in the back of the store somewhere.

Some people love them. Some people hate them. Most people don't understand them, yet many people use them anyway.
While this could describe cellphones, I'm actually talking about emoticons. Even this program thinks it's a misspelled word. Fortunately, there is plenty of information online to give you the background on these wacky characters.
Google is surely near the end of cataloging every book known to man, including those manuals that come with VCRs, because The Developers has finally made the list. Google Print is nice because it allows you to review portions of the book and perform searches throughout. However, not all of it is searchable, so you won't be able to see the ending.
While I'm a big fan of Google and self-fulfilling prophecy, I never imagined the two could exist within the same realm. But according to what I've read recently on multiple websites, the online giant is taking aim potentially at connecting web users through an Internet portal similar to the one I've described in my latest novel, "The Developers."
Now there's an easy way of selecting a random excerpt to read in The Developers ... well, at least easier than just asking me to tear out a specific page or two for you.
Amazon.com has added its Search Inside feature to my book's listing on the website. You can check out the front and back covers, the first chapter or a random excerpt with the Suprise Me! link. It also allows you to zoom in and read the passages.

While it's doubtful Richard Simmons has already finished reading my book, "The Developers," it is worth noting that he already has good things to say about it.
Simmons, who is constantly referenced in the book as a lookalike of one of the characters, Rex Burns, recently responded to the book copy I sent him at his Burbank location.
"Thank you for your kind words and sense of humor," Simmons wrote on an autographed photo. "You are a gifted man!"
