Since I put my site up in July, I've been keeping track of how many people visit, including what pages they view, how long they stay on the site, the color of their hair, etc. Looking at the web statistics report is pretty funny sometimes because you can also see what people searched on to get to your site.
I realized that somehow, this column about dancing has been getting all sorts of hits through the search engine. I decided to redirect the location of my old columns to the new site, so I can get more hits on my site. So far, it is working! Unfortunately, I don't think people are finding what they want. Three-fourths of the page views spend 30 seconds or fewer on my site.
Then again, they could be speed readers ...
